Description
Summary:Includes descriptive metadata provided by producer in MP3 file: "Snacks 4 the Brain! - Podcasts - Snacks 33 -- Randy Reiserer." Scott Merrick talks to Randall "Randy" Reiserer, a post-doctoral fellow at the Vanderbilt Medical Center who is an evolutionary biologist and biological behavioralist. He is investigating the behavior of mice in a search for a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Reiserer also presents interactive videoconferences for the Vanderbilt Center for Science Outreach. Among other topics, Merrick and Reiserer discuss a recent fossil find in the Canadian Arctic, Tiktaalik roseae, which looks like a cross between a fish and a tetradpod (four-legged animal) and appears to provide evidence about the moment when fishes ventured onto land. They also talk about the controversy over the teaching of evolution in schools. Vanderbilt University. Medical Center
