The British Empire's mighty resources are being marshalled to meet force with greater force. From the four corners of the earth men and machines are pouring into Britain. These men come from India, and while waiting to fight they work with scythes in the fields. Although their country is in the invaders' hands, all the Czechs in England are gathered together, awaiting another chance to settle the German account. Here are Czech troops in training. One of the hundreds of Searchlight Units which surround London sends up a corridor of light to detect any hostile aircraft passing across the dark sky. Loading another of Britain's big guns which are defending her coastline. A British coastal gun whose crew are constantly on the alert for a German attempt to invade the shores of Britain. Sandbag barricades, guarded by sentries, protect the country roads of Britain to-day. Strapped on a special stretcher that prevents slipping, a 'patient' is passed from a motor launch to one of the Thames ambulance ships, during an exercise that shows another phase of Britain's preparedness. A battalion of the Welsh Guards, one of the most famous of British regiments, marching past King George. A shell being mounted into one of Britain's home defence guns by a soldier from Newfoundland, the oldest Colony of the British Empire. Large concrete hoops, embedded in the ground, will prevent hostile aircraft from using this peaceful English field as a landing ground. The King inspecting Australian troops, who have come across the world to help defend the Motherland. Picture Sheet No. 14. Issued by INFORMATION OFFICER, P.O. BOX 384, SALISBURY.
