Summary:Handwritten on verso: George Washington - New on Campus - U of W - where then? Filed in: UW - Monuments (#397) Sculpted by Loredo Taft, 1909, for the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exhibition. This statue was commissioned by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The statue is located at the 40th St. entrance to the University of Washington campus. The original base was replaced by a twenty four foot stone base, completed in 1939 as a W.P.A. project.
