Summary: | This is the diary of a Norwegian immigrant, Inga Sjolseth Kolloen, a Seattle resident who took the Chilcoot Pass on her way to Dawson City in Alaska as a part of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. Kolloen describes the day to day experiences of her travels including cooking, the challenges of weather, transportation and boredom. This description includes some of the dangers of travel, describing avalanches and ship wrecks. The diary covers the length of her journey in daily entries from March 8th to June 25th 1898.
