Summary:Boldt’s Restaurant was one of several eating established run by proprietor James R. Boldt. Jim Boldt was a caterer and restaurateur who came to Seattle from Kansas in 1909 to set up a concession stand at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. Boldt fed Seattle for 51 years, either from his various restaurants, bakeries, and concession stands, or at catered events. Boldt was also president and major stockholder of the Seattle Indians baseball team from 1919 to 1923. Boldt’s Restaurant, advertised on this card, operated at 1414 Third Avenue until around 1970. Open twenty-four hours, Boldt's served in the evenings and wee hours of the morning as a congenial gathering location throughout decades of the mid twentieth century. 1 card, 5” x 2.75”
