Description
Summary:The Igloo was located at the southeast corner of 6th Ave. and Denny Way in Seattle. Its vernacular roadside architecture consisted of two igloos with an ice tunnel door between them. When it opened in 1940, motorists used Denny Way to enter onto Aurora Avenue, the city's main north to south highway. The Igloo closed in the mid-1950s after the Battery Street tunnel eliminated this direct route. The menu features Arctic themed cartoon illustrations by K. Oka and also lists Horluck's fancy Danish ice cream, a local treat. 1 menu; 13 x 10 in., folded to 6.5 x 10 in.
