Summary:An avid polo player, humorist Will Rogers is shown here playing his last game at the Olympic Riding and Driving Club on August 6, 1935. The following day Will departed Renton with aviation pioneer Wiley Post in a modified Lockheed Orion. Their trip to explore a route to Siberia was cut short when their plane crashed near Point Barrow, Alaska killing both men. In 1938 the Olympic Riding and Driving Club erected a monument on the site of his last polo game. The monument was eventually moved to the Lake City Library. Handwritten on sleeve: Will Rogers; polo.
