Summary:This “President’s Pass” gave the holder free admission to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE), a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909. The pass was granted to Mrs. Erastus Brainerd whose husband was a Seattle Post Intelligencer reporter in the early 1900s. The pass was signed by John Edward Chilberg (1867-1954) who was a prominent banker and merchant in Seattle and one of the first to promote the idea of holding a fair in the region.
