| Summary: | The Golden Potlatch was a summer festival held in Seattle from 1911 through 1914. Organized by city boosters, it was designed to promote business interests and keep newly-prosperous Seattle in the public eye after the Alaskan gold rush and the success of the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. The week-long festival included concerts, parades, aircraft and boat demonstrations. Seattle's annual Seafair celebrations each July continue the Golden Potlatch tradition. The postcard pictured here was sent to potential boosters to ask them to purchase Official Bug Emblems for their cars in order to support the 1912 Golden Potlatch. 1 postcard; 5.5 x 3.25 in.
