Co, #4 PH Coll 516.732 The Connacher Logging Company had headquarters in Portland, Oregon and its main camp in Vernonia in Washington County. Vernonia was named for Vernona, the daughter of an early settler of the town. In 1925, lumberman Peter A. Connacher bought the property of the Beaver Creek Logging company in Vernonia and changed the name of the company to the Connacher Logging Company. Connacher died in 1940 at 80 years of age.
