Summary: | This shows a map of Antarctica, and on it we have distances which are in kilometers from the various stations. For example, South Pole is 1,352 kilometers from McMurdo station. McMurdo also has a New Zealand station right next to it called Scott base. And one of the things you can do is to go and visit that station fairly often. The only stations I visited on my trips down there would be at the geographic South Pole, which I spent much time at, Bird Station, and Russian station Vostok, which is the highest station in Antarctica. That’s an altitude of over 13,000 feet.
