Description
Summary:Written on verso: Me on the R.R. track with my loaf of bread under my arm. PH Coll 784.37 The exact identity of the family depicted in these photographs is unknown. They may have been friends or relations of Mary M. Durkee, of Seattle, or of Fred and Elma Cowden, a couple living in Nome. It is also possible that they are Elizabeth Goetze and her husband, the photographer Otto Daniel (O.D.) Goetze, who lived and worked in Nome circa 1910. Another possibility is that the pictures feature Viola M. Orton and her husband Ira D. Orton, who was an attorney in Nome around the same time. Scanned from an original photographic print at 110 dpi in JPEG format at compression rate 3 and resized to 768x600 ppi. 2016
