Summary:PH Coll 328.292 In 1922, Eielson created and was the sole pilot for the first Alaskan airline, the Farthest North Airline Company. He flew the first plane by the Arctic route from the United States to Europe. He delivered airmail, flew historic Arctic expeditions throughout the 1920s. Eielson and aviator Earl Borland died in a plane crash in 1929. According to his Alfred Lomen's obituary, Alfred directed operations of the search for the plane crash.
