Of the first two, classics of modernizing thought, the fervent westernism, the praise of the Anglo-Saxon model of development and its arguments to validate or adapt its insertion in the continent are rescued. Of the last two, we examine the warning against the risk of North Atlantic advance, the lack of awareness of this in Latin American society, and the solutions or changes that would allow continental vindication. We maintain that the distinction between both tendencies lies in the encouragement of a globocentric Anglo-Saxon model in America based on the foundations of the coloniality of power/knowledge on the part of the civilizers, in contrast to the danger to freedom and sovereignty that the identitarians see in it, as well as a low awareness in American society of the problem that motivates the need to sensitize them.
