Description
Summary:As part of the international collaborative program ANGWIN (Antarctic Gravity Wave Imaging Network), we have set up an infrared camera at Halley Station in Antarctica (75°35'S). The goal is to capture images of atmospheric gravity waves as they propagate through the upper atmosphere (OH) airglow layer (87 km). Gravity waves in the low and middle latitudes originate from atmospheric disturbances, but high latitude sources of gravity waves are still not well known.
