| Summary: | In the following chapter we consider changes that have been observed in the distribution of fish species over the past century, we look at how fish growth rate and larval survival has been influenced by changing climate and we consider the role played by fish in wider marine food-webs (as prey or predators). We then consider what might happen to marine fish in the future, in the face of predicted temperature rises, extreme weather events and ocean acidification. We examine gaps in the current knowledge base and consider some of the socio-economic consequences that might arise as a result of climate impacts on marine fish.
