Description
Summary:Included is the review of forest typology aimed at issues related to climate-driven dynamics of vegetation. Problem definition and key research were performed under extreme conditions for trees (upper tree-line ecotone). Study of climate factor impacts on forest ecosystems in taiga zone conditions that are optimal for arboreal plants has a number of complications, and required specific data analysis methods. Authors provide examples of using landscape photos taken at different times, ecological scales, DCA-ordination, and catastrophe theory-based modeling. Priority study areas for forest climate-driven dynamics include research on impact of climatic factors on forest structure and diversity, age and recovery dynamics, development of new data analysis methods, and study of phenomena related to permafrost thawing and forest fires. © 2021 Author(s).
