A lovely lunch was supplied by the members’ mother;. Colleen Hoyt brought the meeting to order and Ed Newton led in singing "0 Canada". It was decided that thr members aré going to canvas for th- Red Cross and also the Heart Fund. Memberships were paid. Denise Jorg ensen demonstrated how to write up the record books properly. The Magrath Tourney was held on Nov. 2 5th & 26th with the Raymond Comets defeating the Cardston Cougars in the vHamp ionship game 51-43. The L.C.I. ?ams beat the local Zeniths 59-37 for ?rdJplace. In the consolation game, St. Mary's Warriors defeated John 'iefenbaker Chiefs from Calgary 55-43. Competition for cheerleading was won 'y the girls from L.C.I. while the Chiefs from John Diefenbaker won the Magrath Trading Co. Sportsmanship .Award. After a delay on Friday evening because of the icy roads, the tourney went off real smooth and Saturday's activities were well attended. LEAGUE GAMES Friday, Dec. 2nd, L.C.I. Rams defeated the Zeniths in a close, hard-fought 39-34 games. Rob Ripley led the Zenith scoring with 13 points while Greg Woodbury hooped 10 points and pulled in 13 rebounds. Brad Karren also had 10 rebounds. On Saturday, Dec. 3rd 'the Zeniths lost to the Comets in Raymond by another clode 61-53 score. Ron Rice hooped 19 points and Woodburzy 10. Brad Karren pulled in 16 rebounds. In Junior Varsity Action, the Magrath Eagles beat the L.C.I. Colts 48-38. Cory Michaud hooped 17 points, and 9 fcebouhds. Last Thisrsday they overcame a first quarter 16 point deficit to defeat the Letharidge Labor Club 100-95. Don Mehew led Magrath with 20 points and Rick Ponomar had 16.
