NOTICE OF CONCERN TO ALL PARENTS It has come to our attention that children have been climbing on the railings surrounding the road into the Ambulance Bay at the Hospital. The ledge is approximately 8 inches wide and it drops about 10 feet straight onto the cement below. One slip and someone's child could be seriously injured. Also,. children have been playing on skate boards in the parking lots. These areas are pot­entially dangerous as frequently there are vehicles moving at quick speeds, and children may not be noticed. A nice assortment of colors' 3®® Mrs. Sophia Paluch, bex^ved wife of the late John Paluch of Magrath, passed away in the Magrath Hospital at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Paluch was born in Poland on Apr­il 25th, 1905. Upon coming to Canada she settled in Magrath Where she has resided since. She leaves to mourn her daughter June Budzko and family who all greatly miss her. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 22nd in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father O'Reily conducting the farewell services which were most comfort­ing and reasuring to us all. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery. We wish to thank our relatives, all the nice friendly people in Magrath who donated their heartfelt sympathy of all the food and the thoughtful cards you all. ' Also we wish loving care she at our time of mourning. Thank to thank Donna Kearl for the showed her; for all the people involved with Meals On Wheels; Dr. Mark Dahl, Dr. Dennis Dahl| and the members of the C.W.L. for the lovely lunch. Vera Jeanette Hansen Fowler Magrath Wednesday, January 21st, of'96 years, beloved wife of the adore Fowler. Vera was born in Bennington, ber 3rd, 1890, and moved to Alberta in June, 1899, first near Taber and then to Magrath. She spent the past several years in Grandview Nursing Home in Cardston. ■ She was predeceased by her parents, six sisters and four brothers. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her care and comp­assion to family members and service in the commun­ity. - Funeral services were held in the Magrath Stake L.D.S. Chapel Saturday, January 24th with Bishop Watson Ririe officiating. Organist was Vinessa Hamilton. Helen Cook and Shirley Bourne presided at the Registration Books. Bud Strong was the usher. The family prayer was offered by Paul Godfrey. The opening hymn was "Sometime We'll Under­stand", a duet sung by Bessie Cook and Marie Stevenson accompanied by Carol Lowry. Invocat­ion was given by Lorna Kendricks. " Speaker for the service was Doreen Alston. A vocal solu "Lead Me All the Way" was sung by L.B. Tanner accompanied by Vinessa Hamilton. Closing remarks were given by Bishop Ririe. The closing hymn was "Abide With Me 'Tis Even­tide" by Janet Hunt, Michelle Heggie and Karen Alston accompanied by Vinessa Hamilton. Neil Bourne offered the benediction. Pallbearers were Addison Bourne, Boyd Stevens, Max Bourne, Allan Bourne, Manley Bourne and Paul Godfrey. Interment took place in the Magrath Cem­etery . REG/ $8.85 up Irene Coleman Strang passed away Saturday, 24th at the Magrath General Hospital at of 98 years. was born June 6th, 1888 at Park Valley, Moroni and Jemima Price Coleman. She Magrath with her family in 1903. Irene was a member of the first basketball team in Magrath and was the last survivor of those early pioneer teams. She married Joseph Evans June 6th, 1906. He was killed in an grain elevator accident October 2nd, 1926. Survivors of that union are Leonard (Bertha) Evans of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs. Una Poulsen of Taber. She was predeceased by sons Everett in 1933 and Harold, killed overseas in 1943. On October 12, 1938 Irene married Jesse Strang and she became mother to his daughters Dora and Donna. He passed away July 30th, 1952. Irene was an expert gardener. She was very active in the Auxiliaries of the Latter Day Saint Church. Besides her son Leonard and daughter Una, she is survived by four grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and beloved members of the Jesse Strang family. January 22nd saw Magrath defeated at home by Coaldale 7-1 with Ken Robinson the lone point-getter. January 23rd Magrath defeated the visit­ing Raymond team 4-3 with Codey Godionton scoring 2 goals, Scott Johnson and Brandon Wilde each adding a goal assisted by Matt Johnson and Michael Mehew. ■ On January 24th League action against Cardston saw the game ending in a 5-5 tie. Matt Johnson scored 2 goals, Scott Johnson (1 1 assist) Michael Mehew and Brandon Wilde each scoring 1 goal assisted by Ken Robinson, Ken Rasmussen, Brandon Wilde and Dwayne Sillito. PEE WEES: January 21st at Warner saw Magrath defeated 10-3 with Bartley Harris scoring all 3 goals assisted by Jamie Godionton, Chad Miller and David Taylor. January 24th at Raymond ended in a 10-1 score for Raymond with Bartley Harris scor­ing the lone goal. ' Two exhibition games were played between Atoms A and PeeWees on Friday and Saturday. Scores are not available at this time. ATOM B: Magrath defeated Raymond 10-4 in Raymond on Saturday. Scoring for Magrath were Tyler Harris 4, Cam Owens 3, Trevor Nelson 2 and Robert Brandt 1. It will be a special category in the Quilt class of the Cardston Agricultural Society Fair, Bench Ex­hibits, this August. There are' a number of standards: 1. No age limit. 2. Completed in 1987. 3. Individual or group effort. 4. Size - minimum 72"x80". 5. Hand quilting, not machine quilting. 6. App-liqued, pieced or" embroidered or a combinat­ion of these methods. 7.
