The supper was served from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. with a large number of people in attendance. The Magrath High School Band provided several selections under the direction of Mr. H. C. Poulsen. Miss Shirley Hillmer and Miss Aud­rey Gouw sand 11 It Is No Secret" and "Galway Bay”, accompanied by Miss Sandra Sellens on the piano. Mr. Cecil Takahashi rendered sev­eral guitar and vocal selections. Miss Evelyn Loose sans: ”0 What A Beautiful Morning" ac­companied by Mrs. W. Attwood of Raymond. The C.G.I.T. of the church presented a skit on the camp life and sang some familiar camp songs. Miss Sandra Sellens played "Jealousy4' as a piano solo. A Melodrama "Thar's Gold In Them Thar Mountings” was presented. It was a take-off on the old pioneer days of the ear­ly west. The actors were: Mrs. Norma Owbbs, Mrs. Norah Laurie, Mrs. Myrtle Batkin, Mrs. Dorothy Minor, Mrs. Esther Toomer and Mr. Tom Morrow. A feature of the evening was the pres­entation of a farewell gift to Mr. & Mrs. Roy Overn and family. The minister, Rev. Howard Pentland expressed the regret of the people of the church and community In having the Overns move away but were grateful that j they will be living in Lethbridge, so that • they will still be close enough to visit of­ten. Mr. John Robinson presented the gift to Mr. cc Mrs. Ov.rn on behalf of the people of the church. He extended best wishes and congratulations to the Overns. Mr. Overn has been appointed Asst. Superintendent of the Calg’ary power for the south Alberta re­gion. The evening concluded with films by Mr. ■ Fel Dalderson. Wall ace Dudley and Tom Dudley attended the funeral of their brother-in-law, B. Le­Roy Jensen, 71 in Logan, Utah, who passed away Thursday, April 22nd after a lengthy illness. While in Magrath he was employed in the office of Jensen Brothers Co. as a book­keeper. On Oct. 5, 1905, he married Dorothy Etta Dudley in the Salt Lake Temple. Sur­viving are his widow, a son, and daughter. Residing in Canada are two sisters, Mrs. Le-ora Christensen and Mrs. Violet Coleman, a brother, Elden Jensen; besides brothers and sisters living in Redmemdx Utah. Mrs. Lucille Seward was a recent pat­ient in the ^t. Michael’s Hospital at Lethbrid. e. Mr. & Mrs. Mitch Yamamoto are the parents of a son born Tuesday, April 27th at the local hospital. The program was featured by movies shown by Lions Charley Matkin, Ralph Thompson and Lioness Vinnie Tanner. Lion Charley gave a descriptive talk on his tcwels in the Arctic Circ le and showed some very informative and interesting pic­tures taken on his trip in the interests of the Boy Scouts of ^lberta. Lion Ralph showed pictures of a Regatta held in Kel­owna, D.C. in 1953, and proved to be very interesting and beautiful. The Regatta was held in the Okanagan Lake near Kelowna. Mrs. Tanner showed her pictures taken on the trip recently taken with Lion Mayor Earl down through the U1S.A., inclu ing Chicago, Florida, Texas and other points. They were very fine pictures showing the beauties of the South land and also the dust storm they passed through in the Pan Handle of Texas. Sunday evening in the Magrath Second Ward Chapel, a large crowd were in attend­ance for a farewell service for Robert Ras­mussen, who is leaving shortly for the Brit­ish Missioh Field. Counsellor Eldon Chris­tensen conducted. The choir was under the direction of J. 0. Bridge and Mrs. J. A. Ririe, accompanyist. Talks were given by Robert Rasmussen and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. M. Rasmussen. Merlin Harrison, recent­ly returned missionary, gave the story of "Joseph Smith" with Mrs. J. A. Ririe accomp­anying on the organ with "Joseph Smith's First Prayer." A Vocal Duet by Misses Yvonne Carter and De Anne Rasmussen, and a Vocal Solo by Miss Evelyn Loose, both ac­companied by Mrs. Freda Fletcher, included the musical numbers.
