The old Park Theatre is no more. Thirty years ago the Magrath Second Ward were holding; services there. It was only a. shell of a building. There was a part basement, full of water. The recent assessment, 1(3330.00. Three weeks ago, the building was torn down and the little lumber salvaged was trucked to Cardston in a trailer. Mr. Brewerton then told the town they could have the lot. The land was assessed at £1100.00. The building had no value whatever. D. Stubbert of New Westminster, D. C. and Robert, younger son of Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Following the wedding a bridal buffet d inner was held at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Dr. & Mrs. W. Thompson in Lethbridge. In the evening at the L.E.S. Auditorium in Lethbridge a reception was tendered the couple with the bride and groom, Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Clifton, Mr. & Mrs. A1 Russel, grandparents of fhe bride, Ted Clifton as best man and Margaret Anne Clif­ton as bride’s maid receiving the many guests, who presented them with a profusion of lovely gifts. They spent their honey­moon in Montana. Mr. & Mrs. Clifton are residing in Lethbridge for the summer months after which they will move to Edmonton where the troom will resume his pharmaceutal studies a^ the University of Alberta. The Leo Coleman home was the scene of a delightful party Wednesday evening, hon­ouring Mrs. Leola Christensen of Electra, Texas and Mrs. Ruth Smith of Provo, Utah. George Yanosik*s Lethbridge Cubs carted off top money of $700.00 at the week-end National Baseball Congress Tournament at Henderson Lake by trouncing the Picture Butte Indians 10 to 5 in the final game of the two-day tourney on Sunday in Lethbridge. In the first game the Cubs defeated the Magrath Eag­les, whom they trounced 8 to 4. Paul Jones, proficient Negro Pitcher, limited the Eagles to four runs on 12 well scattered hits for the win, while his mates achieved 8 runs off 12 hits offered by Magrath pitcher’s, Walt Pashuk and Forrest Balderson. Gordon Rice was behind the plate. Walt Pashuk pitched 6 innings before being relieved by Forrest Balderson. The Eagles received a percentage of the gate receipts.
