Fletcher united Karen Alston, youngest daughter of Cal and Doreen Alston of Magrath and Darrel Dan Chipman, eldest son of Dan and Myrna Chipman of Welling in marriage. Attending the bride on her wedding day were Joanne Steed as Matron of honor and bridesmaids Shaunna Webster, Shyreece and Rochelle Chipman, sisters of the groom. The groom was attended by Robert Chipman as best man and Stephen Foote and Robert Baker as groomsmen. Immediately following the ceremony a family dinner was held in the High School Gym which was decorated like a summer garden. Doug Alston, uncle of the bride was M. C. for the program. Prayer was offered by Dean Bullock, uncle of tne groom. The bride and groom sang as a duet "One Perfect Day"; Joanne Ririe Steed gave a reading; nieces, nephews and cousins of the bride sang; the bride's mother, Doreen gave an original reading. Cal Alston, Byng Beazer, Eldon Coleman and L.B. Tanner rendered a vocal number. The toast to the bride was given by her uncle, Tyler Alston with the groom responding. The closing prayer was offered by Dick Chipman, uncle of the groom. A wedding reception was held Friday evening with many relatives and friends calling to offer their congratulations and best wishes. Guests wete welcomed by Mark and Iris Chipman. A lovely buffet supper was served with Donna Beazer and Eva Marie Harker in charge of kitchen arrangements. Sharon Haynes was in charge of the serving. Ruth Johnson cut the wedding cake which wab served by the bride's sisters and sisterin- law Diane, Marianne, Mona and Karen. Thé happy couple left for a honeymoon in Glacier National Park and points south. On their return they will reside in Lethbridge ’here the groom is employed with L.A.F.M. adio Station and the bride by Alberta Government Telephones. A woman stormed out of the house after an : cgument with her husband. "You’ll be back!" : a yellowed after her. "How long do you think you’ll be able to stand happiness". The Fair season is rapidly approaching. Mark July 22-23 for the 7th Annual Magrath & District Fair and August 25-27 for the Cardston Agricultural Fair. If you have never entered a fair before, it's time to start thinking about it. Those of you who enter fairs annually should encourage a friend or neighbor to enter a few items this year - and please do not forget the young people and the seniors. Perhaps your son or daughter would enjoy displaying a hobby item, a photograph or some vegetables from their garden. Inviting young people to enter fairs will help fostet a sense of community spirit in future community leaders. Maybe a neighbor does not drive or yoctr grandparents have sold their vehicle. Why not ask them if they would like to enter something? More than likely they are too proud to ask for a ride or else do not want to "Be a bother", and I am sure they would greatly appreciate your offer. FAIR COMPETITIONS - are educational and so, entering the fair or even visiting the fair becomes a very good learning experience. You learn the methods and techniques used to produce high quality products. As well, the characteristics of high quality products are viewed. Your creativity and originality are expanded when another entry sparks a new idea As a competitor you shoud feel a sense of pride in doing quality work and in demonstrat ing this skill to others. "Borrowed entries' which are not the result of your time and effort, only damage your reputation. Honesty in your own accomplishments are worth more than any accumulated points and a tarnished reputation. An Exhibitors Worskshop is being held in Fincher Creek Provincial Building, Conference Room July 25th, 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Topics to be covered - Handicrafts, Home Cooking, Garden Vegetables, Fruit & Flowers. No charge, bring your own lunch. Please register by calling 627-4023. For more information, call me. Sharon Cummins, District Home Economist, Cardston. MANY WORTHWHILE BARGAINS - Upstairs.
