President Bob Wilbraham welcomed the visitors and Master of Ceremonies Jay Hamilton mlled on Inter­national Councillor Charles >fetkin to Toast the Quean, Introduction of via-fUng clubs was made by Frank Sa bey with Toast to the Ladies being given by L, B. Tanner, suitably respond­ed to be Ireta Lfetkin, Tailtwister George Hamilton was very busy ¿hiring the evening and assisted greatly in making it the success it was. Deputy District Governor Jaok Kerr of Blair-more then introduced District Governor Stan Morris of the local club, who in turn in­troduced the guest speaker of the evening, District Governor Arnold Hanus» of Choteau, Montana. Governor Arnold is chief administrator of District C. and gave a very interesting address to those assembled. Presentation to the Governor and his good wife Iaurette was made by Wallace Smith. Entertainment was supplied during the evening by Mrs. Donna Bourne accompanied by Mrs. Vinessa Hamilton and Sandy McCallum of Lethbridge. The program closed with the singing of the Queen, Dancing was enjoyed until midnight by many of those attend­ing. The Lions would like to thank the ladies of the Senior W, A. for the most enjoyable banquet. One of the most enjoyable banquets of the season was held in the bfegrath Assembly Hall Monday evening when a group of sportsminded men and women entertained at a delicious turkey dinner in honor of the Magrath Rockets Basketball team, Provincial champions of the Senior B. Men’s basketball. Also guesting with the club were their wives, partners and off­icials, Jay Hamilton ably fulfilled the duties of Lfeater of Ceremonies for the evening. Presentations were made to hfegrath athletes with Cal Alston presenting Bruce Ehlert and Bruce Blumell with trophies, winners of the Canadian mixed doubles L,D.S, Badminton Tournament held in Calgary recently. He also presented Burke Hamilton with the Pincher Creek Pony lourfaament Trophy. James E, Blumell paid tribute to the Rockets Basketball team, emphasiz­ing the long period of service of Blair Sabey and Wes Rice, which was responded to by Wes Rice, Individual trophies were then presented to each member of the team on behalf of the iown of Magrath with Bert Dow, Chairman of Finance, nuking the presentation. Watson Ririe, President of the M.A.A.A. presented each lady with a lovely corsage, Ahtlete of the Year Awards were presented by George Hamilton with Sherwin Moriyanfi receiving the Junior Athlete award and Wes Rice the Senior Athlete Award, Mr. Hamilton also presented the M.A.A.A, Pry League Trophy to Garden City Motors, sponsors of the champion Pony League team with Jay Hamilton accepting the award. A vocal solo was enjoyed from Melvin Blumell accompanied by Miss Jean Harris and Mrs. Barbara Davies gave an original reading consisting of a oteracter sketch of each of the ball players which was very well received. Jfr, Grant Woolley was guest speaker of the evening and gave a very stirring address, most suitable for the occa­sion 9 . 9 Mr, and Mrs, Ieslie Jasmand and family were guests of honor at a farewell party in the United Church Hall Sunday evening following the regular study class perod. A sing song was conducted by Mr. Wm. Thoms accompanied by Mrs. Walter Pashuk and accordian selections were enjoyed from Betty Ann Bibo. On behalf of the congregation Mrs. Stu Van Horn, president of the Evening W. A., presented the Jasnan family with a beautiful electric clock. Tasty re­freshments were served with Mrs. L, E. Pharis and Mrs, Ben Gagan in charge, Mr, and Mrs, Jasman have recently moved into their new home in the Raymond district. Semon Seniec, a resident _ since 1952 passed away in the Jfegrath Munic­ipal Hospital Thursday at the age of 62. The late Mr, Seniec was born in Russia, came to the Raymond area in 1950 and then to Tfegrath. He is survived by two sons Nick and Eh It­er both of hfegrath.
