We print an excerpt from District Home Economist Sharon Cummins News Column for this week: THE GIFT OF. TIME FOR AN ELDERLY LOVED ONE The gift of time is perhaps the most precious gift we can offer an elderly loved one. Try placing under the tree a handwritten card offering your own love - an 10U or for or the Sunday for plant sitting or elderly person vacations, hair setting, house cleaning, snow shovelling or lawn cutting. One caution, however, do not promise, more than you can cheerfully deliver. Better an I0U for once a month service that you both for weekly visits all year around errand running to stores, library, post office. A gift certificate for breakfasts at your home. An offer pet sitting while IOU's for anticipate with pleasure than a once a week visit that becomes a burden for both. You know best what your other commitments are. When promised with care, these gifts of time will be gladly received by relatives or friends and will leave the giver with a satisfaction money can't buy.
