A pioneer resident of Magrath, Elijah Bourne, passed away in the Magrath hospital Monday, September 5th ax the age of 92 years. The late Mr. Bourne was a well known cattleman, horseman and farmer of the district. He took a keen interest in sports. Mr. Bourne could recall the early days as vividly as if they were today and kept dates and events accurately, Mr. and Mrs. Bourne retired to make their home in Magrath 22 years ago. Hardly a day passed but he called at the Store and recalled days and events of long ago. An old timer who will be missed. Survivors include his wife Winnifrcd, five sons Mahlon and Doug of Mag- rath, Jack of Rocky Mountain House, Bob of Brocket and Ira of Raymond5 two daughters Mrs., Winnifred Stevens of Orion and Mrs. Bessie Godfrey of Vic­toria, B.C. Funeral services for the late Mr. Bourne were held this Thursday after­noon in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop L. B. The- annual Awards Night of the Del Bonita Border 4 H Beef Club was held in the Doi Bonita {School Auditorium, Club president Ken Perry was Master of Ceremonies and the evening was under the direction of Club leader Mr. Ed Newton who introduced the guests and prize donors. The Del Bonita club is the largest 4H Beef Club in Alberta having 45 members.
