TOK 1J0. 1990 TATOO AND SUNSET CEREMONY The General Stewart Branch No. 4 of the Royal Canadian Legion, will be hold­ing their annual Tatoo and Sunset Ceremony on Saturday, May 5th in the Lethbridge Sportsplex at 7:00 p.m. This year's event will include pre­sentations by military bands, drum and bugle corps, and bagpipe bands - over 350 musicians in all. Our own "Spirit of Alberta" Marching Band and Flag and Rifle Corps will be featured performers. Magrath's bandmaster, Jerry Chatwin, is serving as musical director for the entire event, which includes the colour­ful and stirring massed band finale with bands, pipes and drums. This year's theme is a salute to "Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Inf­antry", and will include presentations by their ceremonial drum corps and a combat demonstration by their paratroops. All proceeds from the sale of tickets will be returned to the participating bands (including our "Spirit of Alberta"). Tickets are $3.00 each and may be. obtained from band members, from Mr. Chatwin at the school, or at the Sportsplex box office. CHINOOK HEALTH UNIT NEWS Homa Care Program - Thanks Volunteers. The Chinook Health unit's Home Care Volunteer Program has a very short history, but are pleased to announce, a successful one. "The enthusiasm and commitment vol­unteers are making to the Home Care Clients is overwhelming", says co-ordinator Deb O'Sullivan. The Chinook Health Unit comm­unities need to be commended for their fine efforts and support. Our greatest natural resource is Vol­unteers! We Thank You. Mrs. Cora Pearl Reece Harrison, beloved wife of the late Mr. Leland Albert Harrison of Magrath, passed away at the Magrath Gen­eral Hospital on Monday, April 16, 1990 at the age of 88 years. Mrs. Harrison was bom on October 13, 1901 in Magrath. She spent some of her earlier years in Utah where she received her education. She moved back to Magrath in 1918 with her family and where she has resided until the time of her passing. She married Leland Albert Harrison on August 15, 1919 and they raised a large family. She is survived by 14 children; ten sons, Leland Reece (Dorothy) of Lethbridge, Grant Leon (Mary) of Barrie, Ont., Floyd Albert (Barbara) of Orem, Utah; Richard Wesley (Luella) of Fort Kent, Alberta; Merlin Levi (Jolayne) of Magrath; Gordon LaMar (Patricia) of Magrath; Clifford William (Joan) of Salem, Oregon; Donald Phenoy (Betty) of Lethbridge; Robert Kent (Cheryl) of Wenatchee, Wash.; Heber Lynn (Peggy) of Lethbridge; four daughters, Pearl Maxine (Gordon) Deglow of Salem, Oregon; Sarah Elaine (Robert) Bullock of Welling; Sheila LaRue (Leslie) Mason of Provo, Utah; Donna Marjorie (Earl) Koenen of St. Albert; one brother, Levi James Reece of Kelowna, B.C.; 42 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one infant son Earl and one daughter Dorothy Ellen; her mother and father, Sarah Ann and William Reece; two brothers and two sis­ters. Funeral services were held in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel Thursday, April 19, 1990 with Bishop Watson Ririe offic­iating. The family prayer was offered by Gordon Harrison. Ushers were Doug Bly and Lon Hovey. Attending the Memorial Registers were Helen Schaffer and Dianne Cant. Prelude music was played by Alma Davies who also accompanied the trio - Shirley Jensen, Vinnie Jensen and Doreen Holland in singing "More Holiness Give Me". Invocation was offered by Clifford Harri­son. Robert Bullock gave the biography followed by remarks by James Bridge. "At Peace", a vocal solo, was sung by L. B. Tanner. Speaker for the service was Reed Coleman. The closing hymn "In The Garden" was sung by the Ladies Trio accompanied by Alma Davies. Dennis Harrison offered the benedict­ion. Honorary Pallbearers were Leland Harrison, Grant Harrison, Wesley Harrison and Floyr Harrison. Active Pallbearers were Merlin Harrison, Don Harrison, Gordon Harrison, Bob Harrison, Clifford Harrison and Lynn Harrison. Interment took place in the Magrath Cemetery with Merlin Harrison dedicating the grave. SPECIAL "SPIRIT OF ALBERTA PRESENTATION A special presentation by the "Spirit of Alberta" Band will be held in the Tom Karren Gym, Thursday, May 10th at 7:30 p.m. There will be a Parents Meeting follow­ing the presentation in the Band Room. This meeting is for all parents of music students in the Magrath School. Discussion of the general direction of the Magrath Music Pro­gram will take place as well as the present­ation of the Financial Statement from the Band Booster Organization. Mom & dad are Kristi & Reese Riggin of Rexburg, Idaho. Tycy is still in the hos­pital in Rexburg, but is improving daily. She is the 15th grandchild for Dan & DeAnne Atwood.
