Shafer and wife of Washington, D. C. They attended a Convention in Alaska in the interests of the Gas Pipeline for Cong­ress and had a very enjoyable time dur­ing their stay in Alaska. They also spent a few days in Magrath and on to Billings Montana to attend another con­vention. Also Mrs. Pearl Low and Miss Funk, sisters of Mrs. Sorensen, of Salt lake City, spent a week in Magrath and Leth­bridge visiting relatives and friends. Born at Ogden, Utah he came to Canada with his family to Magrath. He was a member of the first graduating Law Class from the University of Alberta, Survivors include his wife Gwendolyn, two sons Byron C. of Ednonton, Benjamin Fo ef Toronto, three daughters Mrs. Aurline Lewis of Medicine Hat, Mrs* Iren® Elton of Vancouver, Mrs. Anne Davis of Edmonton, twenty grandchildren six great grandchildrenj three sisters Mrs. Freda Kenney of Calgary, Mrs. Vila Kenney of Tucson, Arizona and Mrs. Basel Woolley of Lethbridge. Funeral Services were held at the L.D.3. Stake Centre, Calgary, Friday afternoon. Bob Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Rice, returned home Sunday frcn France where he fulfilled a two year mission. Shortly after his arrival home he spoke at Church Services in the Magrath Second Ward, relating his experiences. Barry Gorham is home from Norway where he attended a World Scout Jamboree.
