The Migrath and District Chamber of Commerce wishes to express thanks to residents of T&grath who co-operated in the recent clean—up drive. There are still numerous lots in need of attention however, and residents who were unable to participate in the recent campaign are asked to clean up their property at their convenience. The Council must also be thanked for their willingness in putting the town’s fira fight­ing equipment and crew at our disposal. We were also assured that a garbage pick-up would be made and although to date nothing has been done about this we feel sure that it will receive the Town’s attention in the very near future. A.meeting of the Chamber has been called for Monday, April 17th at 7i30 in the Town Hail. All interested are invited to attend. Sec. Funeral services for the late Christ Flexhaug, 72, were held Saturday, April 1st in the Christensen Chapel with Rev. J. G. Tokeen of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd officiating. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased - Doran Flexhaug, Malcolm Flexhaug, Roger Flexhaug, Robert Flexhaug, Gail Atwood and Ben Drown, Durial took place in Archmount Memorial Gardens, Survivors include his wife Ella, two sons Clarence of Taber and Alvin of Many*» berriesj four daughters Mrs, Mabel Zuelke of Warner, Mrs, Rose Marie Ganbel, Mrs, Hazel Mundy and Mrs9 Evelyn Speager all of Barons; also twenty five grandchildren, Mrs, Harriet lane of Spring Coulee was pleasantly surprised Saturday"'evening when twenty one members of her family called to congratulate her on the occasion of her 80th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bradshaw of Salt lake City, Utah attended the funeral of her sister the late Mrs. Annie Bigelow in Lethbridge Wednesday, April 5th, They also visited with friends and •"datives in Magrath and district. The Magrath Lions Club held it’s 23rd annual Charter Night in the United Church Hall Wednesday evening with over 75 Lions, Lionesses and guests from visiting clubs of Choteau, Mont., Cardston, Lethbridge present, President Stu Van Horn weloomed the gathering and Mrs. Vinessa Hamilton presided at th*e piano for the singing of 0 Canada and America.’ Invocation was offer­ed by Rev, Jin Elliot. Dr. Mark Dahl act­ed as Mister of Ceremonies for the evening. Charles Matkin introduced visiting dignitar­ies and Mayor Jay Hamilton brought greet­ings from the town of Magrath. Ken Bald- erson proposed a toast to the ladies to which Mrs. Stan Morris suitably replied. Stan Morris introduced the guest speaker, Loe TJUrphy, Sec. of District 37, who £ive a most interesting address. In closing the evening perfect attendance buttons were presented by Dep. Dist.
