We would like to help the community be more aware of the seniors living at the Terrace. We will be featuring two of our residents weekly, so that you may become better acquainted with them. This week we salute: Mr. Dean Burbank Dean was born on Oct. 9, 1906 in Clareshohn, Alberta. He was one of 5 boys in a family with 3 sisters. Dean was born L.D.S. & married Ida Lundyward in 1926. They were married for many very happy years. After 8 years of marriage Ida joined the Church. Dean & Ida were blessed with 3 boys! one in Lethbridge, California and in Victoria B.C. Dean worked as a carpenter his whole life as his trade. Dean told me he was so busy he didn't have time for hobbies, but we all know that he loves to ride his bike. He has won a 1st prize red ribbon 3 years in a row in the Magrath Celebration Parade. Dean is definitely "still tickin". Dean is very careful about his health always trying to eat nutritious food. Dean is alot of fun to have around. Very easy going and happy. Luke Murakami Luke was born in Japan & at the age of 7 he moved to Victoria Island. Tn 1942 Luke moved to Alberta where he did many different jobs in different area. He worked in a cannery, a woolen mill & as a custodian. Luke worked for many years as a custodian for the College in Lethbridge, where he retired at the age of 65 . Luke has been married for many years and has one daughter Linda who is 40 years old. When Luke was younger he enjoyed boxing. He was in the light weight class all through school & even boxed for a few years after. Luke also really eqjoyed hunting & fishing, Luke is really fun to get to know. He has a terrific sense of humor & is always happy & a joy to be around. He is a very sociable person, always trying to help others. He truly is an asset to the Terrace.
