Chapel in Ottawa, some kind of a record must have been set for distances travelled by relatives and friends as well as .he participants for the lovely occasion. Donna and Frank came from Clyde River on Baffin Island, about two thousand miles, where she has been in charge of the hospital in that small community. Frank is manager of the Hudson's Bay store at that point and hales from the Shetland Islands about four hundred miles North of Scotland. Bishop Doerksen performed the ceremony (hit: wife is the former Ruth Steele from Magrath). The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Tommy Nawata of Calgary. Her sister Mrs. Lucy Matsuba also of Calgary, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother Jim, Hudson's Bay manager at Fort George, Quebec which is located on James Bay. Music for the occasion was provided by Jane Iwassa, also sister of the bride, who resides in Ottawa. Lovely flowers decorated the Relief Society room where the wedding took place. A wedding dinner was provided at the Talisman hotel with David Iwassa acting as M.C. Toast to the bride was given by Clyde Spencer of Magrath with the groom responding. Hiro Matsuba led in two songs and pictures of the North and Shetland Islands were shown. Donna then presented her wedding bouquet to Hazel Spencer. Other guests were the bride’s mother Mrs. Grace Kadonaga of Magrath, the groom’s mother Mrs. Deyell from Shetland Islands, Mrs. Jim Deyell and children from Fort George, Mr. and Mrs. M. Kitagawa, uncle and aunt of the bride from Red Deer, Bishop & Mrs. HaroJd Doerksen and Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Spencer of Ottawa. . After a honeymoon in the Shetlands the happy couple will make their home in Clyde River, N.W.T. where we presume they would be glad to see any visitors who might happen along that way. A meek little man walked into the income tax office in one of the western provinces, sat down, and beamed at everyone. "What can we. do for you? ‘ asked the chief inspector, "On, nothing,” said the meek little man. "I just wanted to meet the people i'm working for." JUST ARRIVED: A BEAUTIFUL NEW ASSORTMENT OF SPRING DRESSES, BLAZERS,■LONG DRESSES, LOUNGERS, BLOUSES, PANT SUITS Upstairs. Mrs, Sarah Hoare of Calgary visited with friends and relatives in Magrath and Welling this week. Mr. and Mrs. Len Hillmer, Mrs. Elsie Owens and Miss Bev Owens were Calgary visitors during the weelend, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Mcriyama.
