And Mrs. Pilling’s class was asked to write a conversation between any two animals in the Zoo. Heidi Miehe wrote this one about the Lion and the Gori Ila. THE LION AND THE GORILLA Here is a story I’ll tell you that a friend told me. . He said that a lion and a gorilla said this: "Gee those children are sweet," said the lion. "Yes they are," replied the gori 11a. f "but the parents are stupid." "Yes, I Know, they feed us animals when they’re not supposed to." "Yes, the children tell them not to but the parents don’t listen." "Yes, I know, they say ’Oh, don’t bother what the signs say’"* "Yes, the parents are ill mannered." "They certainly are," "Not only that, they throw their garbage at us and not bother to put ih.in the garbage." "I wonder how children can be so sweet when their parents are unbearably horrid." "Yes, this is a mystery." "Their parents won’t let them come to the Zoo because they say children make such a mess," "It’s unbearable to know that parents blame things on their children when they did it," "Ues, it is a shame." "Goodnight, I’m getting sleepy." "I am too, let’s talk about it tomorrow night." "Well, goodnight." "Goodnight." Heidi Miehe if he dodges everything, he’s a politician.
