Father J. O'Reilly greeted the children and opened the evening with prayer. The children began the program with this year's theme song "I Love to Tell the Stofy". Kindergarten Class led by Mrs. Irene Gruninger performed an action song and sang "I Have Decided to follow Jesus". The pre-teen Class taught by Mrs. Corey Beres presented a summary of the 5 days lessons. The Primary Class Rhythm Band performed "He's God the Whole World In His Hands" conducted by their teacher Mrs. Linda Hillmer. The Junior Class of Mrs. Hilda Weing sang "Praise the Lord". "God Tell It On the Mountain" and " Was Blind But Now I See" were sung the Pre-teen Class. Irene Gruninger thanked the parents, teachers, teachers' assistants and the helpers who provided the daily snack for the children during the week. Tje : program closed with the song i "Shalom". The Vacation Bible School classes began each afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church with an opening talk by Pastor F. Hertwig, and a short film. Individual classes were then held at both the Lutheran and United Church class rooms. Foll­owing the program Friday evening a light lunch was served at the United Church and the children's projects were displayed. He was born in Raymond on April 30, 1911 and moved to Magrath when he was two years o age where his father was in partnership with Mr. Grant in the Grant & Davies General Store. He received his schooling in Magrath. Jack moved to Lethbridge in 1936 where he operated the Diamond Delivery. He served over- 2* years in the RCASC «d was a member of the Ogden Legion Branch 154. He was very active in the Scouting Movement and the Rehab Social Club for the Handicapped since 1950. He was also °f- tHe Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2098 and the Ogden House Senior Citizens. Jack is survived by his loving wife Lillian whom he married October 10, 1937; four sons Trevor and John of Calgary, Rae of Whitehourse, and Glen of Calgary; 5 granddaughters and 3 grand­sons . Mr. Davies was predeceased by his father Trefer in July 1926 and his mother Eva Elizabeth in April, 1971. Mrs. Melony Winkelmann and children Eric & Julie of Boone, N.C. and her sister Mrs. Kayla Barstad and children Raegen & Sam of Portland, Ore. arrived June 29th for a two week holiday’ guests of Leora Gurney. They visited friends and relatives in Magrath, Lethbridge & Warner; attended a Leavitt Family Reunion in Leavitt July 7-9, and the wedding reception of Debbie Law and Robert Rollingson. A family dinner was held in the Magrath Cultural Hall following the wedding with Mrs. Ruth Rollingson as hostess. A delic­ious turkey dinner was prepared and served under the direction of Mrs. Vi Miller with friends assisting. Bishop Bob West for the occasion, given by her uncle groom responding, the brother of the groom, Reroy Rollingson and family from New Zealand. A delightful program was presented by family and friends. For her wedding day the bride chose as her maid of honor Marci Brewerton of Graham, Texas. Bridesmaids were Ilona Frenzel, Cindy Norton, Leslie Garnery and Lana Larson of Ut^h. Flower girl was Amy Price, niece of the bride. Best Man was Rusty Rollingson and groomsmen were Tim Rollingson, Curtis Fletcher, Greg Strong and Grant Williams of Idaho. Timmy Rollingson, nephew of the groom was ring bearer. Thursday evening a Calling Reception was held in the Magrath Cultural Hall, The beautiful floral arrangements as well as the corsages were made by Ruby Fletcher, Darcy Rollingson and Ila Tuff.
