Dear Citizen of Magrath I am the wife of a Lions club member here in Magrath. Over the years I have learned a lot about the club, the Lions club is a Service Club. They, are:here to. serve the citizens of Magrath. Over the years they have done a lot of good by helping to make Magrath a better place to live. When your Club or Organization needs money you go and ask the Lions Club for help. I don't think they have ever turned any body down. Their last project was, helping the new Library & Museum. But did you ever stop and think where the money conies from?? The money is raised through fund raisers, the biggest Fundraiser is the July breakfast and Steer Raffle. the Lions Club has a small membership, with most members in their prime of life. The next ■ u time you approach the club for help, think about your pat in helping and supportihg Dora Raasch. - My two pieces, Kate 5, and Tiffany, 10, were sleeping over. In the middle of the night, Kate woke up crying & told Tiffany she'd had a bad dream. When Tiffany asked her what it was about, Kate replied, "You should know! You were in it!" A Magrath Experiment The Town of Magrath is to run a municipal billiard parlor. This decision was reached after the authorities had tried unsuccessfully to exercise reasonable, control of the privately managed billiard halls of the place. It will be an interesting experiment & results will be watched by other municipalities that have had similar trouble. . , Taken from The Western Home Monthly August 1919.
