A potluck barbeque was followed by a softball game. Having taken Parochial Umpire Lessons, umpire Lydia Tricsli is to be commended for her foresight and hindsight. Injures to the players were limited to one sprained toe, one sprained hand, some base-sliding contusions and multiple sunburns. A** Mr. "Ted" Edmund Hocking passed away in the Magrath Municipal Hospital Sunday, June 27th, 1982, beloved husband of Mrs. Melva Hocking. Born in Magrath, Ted received his education in the Magrath schools and had lived all of his lifetime in the Magrath district. He was a livestock dealer, farmer and rancher. He was very interested in the affairs of the community and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Besides his loving wife Melba, he is survived by one brother, Dr. S. Burdett Hocking of Big Fork, Montana; two sisters Mrs. Helen Rivers of Vancouver and Mrs. Jennie King of Victoria, B.C. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Martin Bros. Memorial Chapel, 13th St. North, Lethbridge. Dudley when Lori, youngest daughter of George, became the bride of Kenneth, son of Mr. & Mrs. Dewey Cahoon of Leavitt. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Ray Stevenson, in the presence of many friends and relatives. Mona Smith, sister of the bride, read a poem "My Wedding Day", during the signing of the registar. Decorations in blue, white and sliver, adorned the patio and carried over into the Cultural Hall where the dinner and reception were held.
