A very pretty wedding was solemnized in the Ifegrath L.u.S* Chapel Saturday, August 15 when Nancy Ann Brown, daughter of Mrs, Colleen Brown of Magrath and Gordon Coppieters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ceasar Coppieters, Sr. of Haymond were united in marriage. Bishop R,M. Dahl performed the cefemony in the presence of relatives and friends. Miss Jane Kadonaga presided at the organ for the wedding music. The bride, who entered the chapel on the arm of her grandfather, Frank W. Brown who gave her in marriage, was attended by Miss Marie Bennett as maid of honor, Tfergaret Brown, Shelley Bly and Barbara Reeder as bridesmaids. The groom s attendants were his brother Ronald Coppieters as best man and Dennis Campbell, Charles Rul1i s and Patrick Brown as ushers. Following the wedding a supper was served in the banquet room of the Assembly Hall. Ronald Coppieters offered the opening prayer and blessing* The toast to the bride was given by her uncle Murray Scott of Nelson, B,c. Saturday evening a reception was held in the Magrath Assembly Hall. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Murray Scott, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Coppieters. Miss Mila Chemoli attended the guest book and parents ®f the bride and groom assisted in receiving. Gifts were arranged by Mrs. Carol McCoy, Mrs. Marsha Coppieters, Donna Richardson and Deb­bie Curliss. The bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Linden Bone of Brooks were host and hostess for the eveningi Mrs. Helen Dahl was in charge of the kitchen arrangements and guests were served by friends of the bride* Friends and relatives attending the wedding were from Magrath, Raymond, Woolford, welling, Taber, Brooks, Patricia, Duchess, Lethbridge, Coutts; Coram, Mont.; Lovell, Wyo., Washington, Provo, Utahj and Nelson, B,c. Nancy and Gordon will make their home in Raymond. ffegrath and district contestants placed well in the first Summer Games held Last week in Pincher Creek, As part of the individuals and teams representing the M. D. of Cardston, they helped accumulate the 96 points which saw the Cardston M4D* bring home the Summer Games flag which was presented to Tom Karren, regional director for Cardston by Games Com­mittee chairman Fred Lipskey, Thursday evening* Winners of the various events included: ARCHERY:(coached by Hans and Joan Miehe) Sen­ior Women - Debbie Curliss, 1st; Senior Men - Hans Miehe, 2nd* Junior Girls - Jean Curliss, 1st; Cadet Girls - Leanna Curliss, 2nd; Cadet Boys - Vincent Harker, 1st. Miss Kathy Harker has returned home after spending the summer with the Canadian Service Corps at Wabasca and will leave the end of the month for Hawaii where she will continue her studies in Education. Of interest to Magrath residents is the announcement that Army Specialist Four, Keith Passey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Passey of Lorenzo, Idaho, and former Magrath res­idents, recently received the Good Conduct Medal while assigned to the 3rd Infrantry Division in Germany. He received the award f©r exemplary conduct, efficiency and fidel­ity in active military service. Weekend visitors at the C. S. Matkin home included Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor and daughter Leslie of Bountiful, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Vincent, Dwight and Laurie of Calgary.
