George Turner, a resident of Raymond, passed away in Raymond Tuesday, August 21st after a lengthy illnesso He was 64 years of age. Born in Magrath where he grew up and received his education, Mr. Turner had been employed as a Grain Agent for Alberta Wheat Pool, had served with the Canadian Light Anti-Aircraft Battery of the Royal Canadian Army spending three years over­seas o Upon his release from the Armed Serv­ices he owned and operated Raymond Clean­ers until ill health forced his retire­ment in 1972O He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Thelma; one son Lawrence of Raymond; a daughter Mrs» Douglas (Janet) Alston of Lethbridge; 11 grandchildren; one brother Fred of Taber, and two sisters Mrs. Carl (Verda) Peterson of Price, Utah and Mrs® Gordon (Caroline) Begg of Calgary* Funeral services were held in the Raymond LbD.S. Born in Magrath, he joined Calgary Power in 1935 and had worked in '/arious Southern Alberta localities until being transferred to Pincher Creek in 1946 where he was district manager for Calgary Power.
