Mrs. Inez Gibb was hostess for the'occasion and daility refreshments were served by the Misses Inger Jensen, Sharon Miller, Diane Gruninger, ' Jean Harker and Peggyann Coleman. Kitchen arrangements were by Mesdames Betty Briggs, Shirley Neilson and Afton Keeler. Mr, and Mrs* Hewton left on the weekend for Toronto where Mr, Hewton has accepted a position with the Ford Motor Co. of Canada in the Drafting Division of the Engineering department. Over fifty members and their partners of the 150th Quorum of Seventies from Magrath, Spring Coulee and Welling enjoyed a get-to-gether Saturday evening at the Magrath Assembly Hall. Svend Jensen was in charge of the event and Roy Chipman acted as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, A delicious dinner was served in the banquet room of the Assembly Hall with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Miller, Mr. and’Mrs. Rulon Thomson and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Norton in charge of preparations and serving. Following the banquet games were played under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Miller, A most enjoyable evening was had by all. Friends and neighbors gathered at the Magrath United Church Saturday evening to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs, A.T, (Ted) Austin and family. Scotch plaids were in evidence in decor, reminiscent of Mrs. Austin’s Scotish background. Mr, Leonard Whitt capably handled the duties of Ifester of Ceremonies and introduced the program which was interspersed with recollections he and Ted had had during their lifetime association, ' Numbers included "This land Is Your land1*, a chorus sung by the Brownies and Guides accompanied by Miss Terry Yamamoto on the pianoj Mrs, Alice Stevenson attired in Scotch kilt danced two Scotish numbers, The Sword Dance and The Highland Fling; Mrs, Janet Kay also attired in Scotch kilt sang Scotish vocal numbers "She* s the Lass For Me" and "If I Marry Again", accompanied at the piano by Miss Join Christensen. "The Electric­ian’ s Wife" was presented as a monologue by Norma Owens, The program closed with the Brownies and Guides gathering around a glowing campfire and singing campfire songs led by Miss Kathy Harker. ' On behalf of the Magrath United Church Sunday School, Mrs, Owens presented Sheila, Stuart and Neil Austin with parting gifts of bibles and Mr, Syl Rarick, on behalf of the congregation presented Mr, and Mrs. Austin with a parting gift. ' During the lunch hour which followed Miss Joan Christensen presided at the piaho, playing a number of\popular Scotish numbers. Mrs, Austin, on behalf of her family, expressed their appreciation for the evening. The Austins are leaving shortly to make their home in Castlegar B. Mrs. Rae Atwood and children of Las Vegas, Nevada are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs, D. T. Nelson. Mr. Gerald Leishman was home for the week­end from Winnipeg where he was attending a course in Hospital Administration, Finally: "I’ve been working here eight years," complained the employee to the ranch boss, "and I’ve been doing the work of three men. Now I want a raise." The rancher objected. "I can’t give you a raise," he said, "but if you’ll tell me who the other two men are I’ll fire ’em."
