Mountain View and Nhgratho Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mhi left Thursday morning for Pouce Coupe where they will visit relatives and friends. MrSo Lisadore Crookston returned home Monday. She accompanied her sister-in-law Mrs, Dorothy Brown who will spend a short vacation. The Brownies and Guides held a closing party Monday night at Jubilee Park when mothers and daughters enjoyed a delicious pot luck supper. Softball was played and the evening closed with a wiener roast. There will be no further meetings of Brownies and Guides until September. Mr, and Mrs, Charlie Bean of Calgary were Magrath visitors during the weekendo They were guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmer in Lethbridge, Mrs. Kay Page and son of The Dalles, Oregon are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wheeler, Mr, and Mrs. Waldon Rice of Lethbridge were Magrath shoppers Monday. LESS PRECIPITATION RECORDED In only two southern districts of Alberta is precipitation above the long-term spring time average. At Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, rain and snow brought much higher than normal moisture at seeding time. ' The balance of the province, however, is receiving less rainfall than normal and at the time of writing, some newly emerged crops were starting to show a need for moisture. Attending the bride was her cousin Miss Stephonie Dahl who was attired in white eyelet and carried a basket of carnations and lily of the valley. A wpddi ng luncheon was served immediately after the wedding at which time Miss Marsha Stevenson presided at the guest book. . The happy couple will make their home in Lethbridge where the groom is on the staff of the University of Lethbridge. An early resident of South Alberta, Orene Hansen of Cardston, passed away in Calgary Wednesday, June 14th. He was 76 years of age. Survivors include his wife Winnie of Card­ston, two daughters Mrs. Elsworth (Marie) Workman of Cardston and Mrs. Bryan (LaJune) Smi th of Hill spring. Two sisters - Mrs. Winnie Boume and Mrs. Vera Fowler reside in Magrath. Funeral services for the late Mr0 ston Saturday afternoon, June 17th with Bishop Keith place in the Cardston cemetery, Hansen were held in the Alberta Stake Chapel, Card Bevans officiating. liiterment took Elisha Jay (E J) Karren passed away suddenly in Picture Butte Wednesday June lAth at the age of 57 years. Born and raised in Migrath, the late Mr. Karren had resided in Picture Butte for the past thirty years where he was employed with Canadian Sugar Fact­ories Ltd, . He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille Poulson, one son Barry of Swift Cur­rent, and one daughter Mrs, A. M, (Charmaine) Sucher of Picture Butte; his mother Mrs. Estella Karren of Magrath; two brothers Keith of Lethbridge and Thomas of Magrath; and six'grandchildr en„ . Funeral services for the late Mr. Karren were held in the Lethbridge LDS Stake Chapel Saturday afternoon, June 17th with Bishop Stanley E. Johnson of Picture Butte officiating.
