MAGRATH NEWS^pV Published Weekly Since 1932 by The Magrath Trading Company 500 October 30,2002 SPIRIT OF ALBERTA TOUR A BIG SUCCESS!! The hours of practice and preparation paid off as the Spirit of Alberta Marching Band exceeded their goals. As usual they were very popular, receiving standing ovations. Since they competed last year as a concert band their were a lot of students this year who had never participated in marching field competition. There were several grade 8 students that went this year also so Grades 8, 9 and 10 were learning new things that they had never done before. After their first competition in Pocatello they decided that another dance portion by the Guard girls was needed and so a lot of hard work went into preparing for the second competition at Weber State over the weekend starring Lauren Balderson. The students presented themselves well and showed great courtesy and manners. They represented Canada with pride. The audiences were very impressed with the size of community that the students come from and the high percentage of students in the school that participate in the band. A great big thank you to all those who worked so hard to make this wonderful trip happen, especially Jerry Chatwin, Joanne Dever and z --- \ Points of Interest * Senior’s News * Grocery Specials dome Hardware (---?--- ? --- Inside this Issue: Community Sports Classified Ads Calendar Library News Grocery Specials Nikki Bogdan.
