MAGRATH NEWS Published Weekly since 1932 by The Magrath Trading Company 30 cents Wednesday September 27,1995 WOLVERINES FOOTBALL The Magrath Wolverines won their 2nd straight game on Sat. as they defeated Lethbridge Eskimos 16-13 to move into a tie for 2nd place in their league. Jordan Heath ran for over 100 yards, including a 65 yard touchdown run. J.D. Clark scored the other touchdown with a 1 yard run. Darren Baldersen caught passes twice for 2 point conversions to round out the Wolverines scoring. Defensively Darren Balderson, Hugh Beckstead, Brett Gurney and J.D. Clark all had close to 10 tackles. This Saturday the Wolverines play undefeated Cardston in Magrath at 10 a.m. A win will put them in first place. Meanwhile the Wolverines Junior Varsity defeated the Lethbridge Bombers 21-8 to stay undefeated. Touchdowns were scored by Brock Dudley, Justin Holladay . & Jimmy Balderson. A AAA A A Band Director, Jerry Chatwin, is planning a Band Trip to Idaho on Oct. 12 - 14 for a competition. Every morning students will be rehearsing early morning and other selected times. NEWS The Sept, meeting was hold on Sept. 13 at the home of Irene Gruninger. Next month we will be starting a study of the Beatitudes. A Baby Medal will be mailed out to Megan Delinte. Report was given on the activities over the summer. We will be hosting a Pumpkin Social & Sign­song at the Diamond Willow Terrace on Oct. 14, be there for 12:30.
