Party Senate candidate forum in Lethbridge at the Fritz Sick Memorial Centre, 420-1 ¡th Street S., Gymnasium B, from 7'00 - 9:00 PM ' ’ Um one of the seven Reform candidates, and on September ¡2* you may vote to nominate two. iaese two will then run in the Senate election to be held October 19th in conjunction with the coming Alberta Ciwc Elections, This is part of the Reform Party’s effort to further democratize our federal political institutions in general, and in particular to bring about an elected Senate. How can we possibly tolerate any >cnger a senate in which our Senators are appointed by a distant and partisan Prime Minister rather than by our democratic choice! Two major functions of our Senate are to represent the interests or the Provinces, and put a check on a single party dominated House of Commons Liberal Senators appointed (not elected) by a Liberal Prime Minister cannot possibly do this. ttrge you to attend the meeting on September where I and the other candidates will discuss this issue and answer your questions. I would like your nomination vote on September the 12* and the meeting on September 3rd will help you confirm your choice.
