The choral class will perform three select­ions followed by a one act play entitled "Jack's Adventures in Storyland". The play is a child fantasy in which Jack (from Jack and Jill) strangely falls out of his story and travels with his helper, Goldilocks, through a number of other stories, facing numerous dangers and challenges on his way The play is enriched with the use of light ing and sound effects and according to Mr. Simon, the acting from the Magrath students will be outstanding. All Band students in Grades 7 to be performing a variety of Christmas various levels of difficulty. Payment Date: You may arrange for the 15th day or the last day of each month, which ever will best suit your budget. This plan will eliminate the worry about paying all your taxes by August 31st. Details■ Plan in effect January to December each year. Tax Notices will be sent out in June as usual and pay­ment plan will be adjusted at this time to reflect payments made and the balance due will be amortized over remaining six months July to December. Who Is Eligible? Anyone who pays their whose taxes are paid up to December 31 of the prev­ious year. How Does It Work? We need your wirtten along with one of your personal cheques With this authorization your payments can be made aut­omatically through your Bank chequing account. This will eliminate the need for you to write cheques each month, also the worry about missing penalty deadlines if you forget or are away. You may stop payment at any time you feel the necessity to do so. We advise Senior Citizens not to enter this plan due to the Property Tax Reduction Plan which for most Seniors covers the majority of their taxes. Monday, : / 'u :■ /-lb :>.m- E\ Bert Harding Cliton, belove< msband of Mrs. Catharine Clifton, passed away in Magrath on Monday, November 25, 1985 at the age of 67 years. Mr. Clifton was born in Magrath on September 5th, 1918 to George and Sarah Clifton. He rec­eived his education in Magrath and then served overseas during WW11 with the Calgary Tank Reg­iment and was a POW for three years. He marr­ied Catherine Gallon in England in 1941 and they returned to Magrath after the war where they have resided ever since. He worked with Alberta Canning Company for 20 years _ and then for Tanco for about 10 years until ill health forced him to retire in 1977. He was a member of the Legion General Stewart Branch #4. Bert loved sports of all kinds. He is survived by his wife Catherine; one daughter Dorothy Ann (Bob) Etter of Nanaimo, four sons Ray Matthew (Ruby) of Shaughnessy, AB., Robert Vaughn of Peace River, Allen Lee (Wendy Lea) of Magrath and Christopher Thomas (Lori) of Lethbridge; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters Georgia Heggie and Men’s long sleeves assorted colors. SISES: S.M.L.XL. Polyester/Cotten knit. Grace Judd both of Raymond and two brothers Lee and Verl both of Vancouver. He was pre­deceased by two grandchildren, one brother and one sister. Funeral Services were held in the Mag­rath L.D.S. Stake Chapel Friday, November 29, 1985 with Bishop Watson Ririe officiat­ing. The family prayer was offered by Ted Clifton. Evelyn Bourne and Carol McCoy att­ended the guest book and ushers were Bud Strong, Glen Holman and Doug Bly. , The opening hymn was "Sometime We'11^ Understand" by L.B. Tanner, Cal Alston, Eldon Coleman and Byng Beazer accompanied by Vinessa Hamilton. Blaine Norton offered the invocat < ion. Cal Alston gave the biography and tjrst speaker for the service was Lauretta Boisseiie a niece; Dan Davies sang "The Lord's Prayer accompanied by Alma Davies. The concluding speaker was L.B. Tanner with closing remark? by Bishop Ririe, the closing hymn was My Buddy" by L.B. Tanner accompanied by Vinessa Hamilton. Bob West offered the benediction. Honorary Pallbearers were Scotty Brown. George Hamilton, Don Harker, Tom Minor. Glen Holman, Len Hillmer. Active Pallbearers were Ian Clifton, Ralph Richardson, Bob Clifton, Kenneth Hogan, Bud Strong and Omar Tailifter. Raymond Squirts tangled with Lethbridge Panthers on November 30th with a 10-1 win. Darren Wright had 6 goals and 2 assists; and Todd Fraser, Matt Johnson and Ben Beaz­er and Spencer Williams had 1 goal apiece. Bryce Strate, Matt Johnson & Chad Skretting played good defence and Kinn Wetherelt play­ed excellent on front line. Magrath Squirts played two games in Ray­mond on Saturday, November 30th. In the first game Magrath was defeated by Raymond by a 6-2 score. Scoring for Magrath were John Ripley and Jason Ripley. Trevor Nelson had an assist. x.n the second game Magrath won 8-7. Magrath scorers were Tyler Harris with 4, John Ripley, Trevor Dunlop, Kevin Strate and Cam Owens each with one. Jason Ripley had an assist. Mr. Ole Kraft, beloved husband of Mrs. Maxine Kraft of Magrath, passed away sudden­ly Monday, December 2nd, 1985. He was 64 year of age. Funeral services will be held at Martin Brothers Memorial Chapel, 703 - 13th St. N. Lethbridge, on Friday, December 6th at 1:01 p.m. Viewing will take place at Martin Bros. Memorial Chapel Thursday evening, December 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. . . 1 HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL DEWS i Cardston Cougars won the tnuual Magrath High School Basketball Tournament defeating Blood Reserve St. Mary's 67-45. Magrath Zeniths, hosts of the Tourna­ment, captured third place by downing Win­ston Churchill Bulldogs 77-58 with Jeff Stevenson and Tod Kendrick scoring 19 pts. each for the Zeniths. Catholic Central Cougars downed Coal­dale Kate Andrews Gaels 57-42 in the con­solation final. Champion Cardston Cougars reached the finals by defeating Churhill Bulldogs 77­59, while St. Mary's Warriors downed the Magrath Zeniths 50-47. Danny Manyfingers led the Warriors with 11 points while Jeff Stevenson scored 16 for the Zeniths. In the consolation semifinals GCH edged Raymond Comets 71-70 and Coaldale defeated Taber W.R. Myers Rebels 47-43. In the late game Friday night the Churchill Bulldogs won over Raymond Comets 82-68. ’ Trophy donors for the 17th Annua.
