Funeral services were held June 12 at the First Ward Chapel with Flocks Funeral Home in charge. Many beautiful flowers banked the casket and were carried by members of the Ladies’ Aid. A, Ririe, Magrath Trading Company, Magrath,. Alberta,. Dear Sir: Would you please send a copy of your paper to the following, just one issue I mean: Mr, George Aboussafy, Wetaskiwin. Mr. W. P, Loggie, .Fairview. Hemstocks General Store, Fairview. I am just on my way back to Edmonton from the Peace River country and am much impressed with the country on the whole. However, they have their troubles and last year had their first, crop failure in history due to drought. i This year they haven’t any too much moisture and have a serious outbreak of cutworms in many places, the first time they have ever bothered here. Many gardens are completely ruined now and will have to be replanted. Damage to fields is rather extensive also. One day these people may wake up to the fact that they will have to get some irrigation water out of these great rivers up here. I am looking out the window now at the Athabasca which is larger than any three of our rivers combined and it is an infant compared with the Peace. When I crossed the Peace on a ferry the other day it was high alright j but it was running swiftly and was a quarter i of a mile wide and they told me that it was i thirty-five feet deep most of the way. Yours truly, C. C, Spencer, We notice by the Cardston News that Magrath students took most of the Senior High School prises while Raymond and Cardston won most of the girls’ and children’s events at the school track meet held there. -.M.—. ‘ See our beautiful range of table covers.
