The Magrath Pandas won their 2nd provincial 3A championship in the last 4 years with a 61-49 victory over Airdrie in the final. Kris Anderson led the Pandas with 21 points, Patti Balderson & Kristyn Tanner added 18 & 12. In the semi-final game the Pandas defeated a tough Stettler team 90-66. Patti Balderson had 33 points & Kris Anderson added 27. The Pandas opened the tournament with a 63-32 victory over Beaverlodge. Also last week at the annual Southern Alberta Girls Awards Banquet Kris Anderson was named the league's "Most Valuable Player" with Patti Balderson being selected to the 1st all Star team & Kristyn Tanner to the 2nd team. The Pandas captured the League Championship trophy with a 15-1 record. Overall the Pandas completed an outstanding season with a record of 34 wins & 3 losses. Members of the Pandas include. Kris Anderson, Patti Balderson, Kristyn Tanner, Becky Tollestrup, Karlie Dahl, Megan Dahl, Twila Grusendorf, TifTany Riegling, Jodi Bullock, Andrea Harker, Nancy Harding, Danielle Rollingson, Carolyn Carter. Mar. 8 for the 4-H multiclub members. Each member had to prepare a speech on a topic of their choice & speak in fromt of an audience of 7 judges.
