Mr. and Mrs. Henning Andersen of Salt lake City, Utah are visiting relatives in Magrath and district, guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bridge. Mrs. Albert Rassolini of Lethbridge, formerly of Fhgrath visited with friends Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sugden and daughters of Red Deer are visiting at the home of her mother Mrs. Ella Blumell. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Pai left Monday morn­ing to visit relatives in Pouce Coupe, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schneyder Sr. are visiting in Carmichael, California with their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mirs, w'erner Meyer and family and in Sparks, Nev­ada with their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Les Schneyder and family. Mrs. Joe Passey of Edmonton visited at the home of her parents Fir. and Mrs. W. W. Austin. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Matkin of Lethbridge were Magrath visitors Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Moriyama and daughter Kim of Calgary visited with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hi Timer and Mrs. Grace Moriyama during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. George Minor and family left Saturday morning for Trail, B.C. to attend the wedding of their son Jim and Miss Christa Scholz which was an event of Monday, June 30th. Mr. and Firs, Rulon Boyson and Bruce, and her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. LaMon Spencer of Salt Lake City, Utah were among the out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Margaret Flet­cher. Mrs. Maud Ririe presided at the organ for the prelude^ and accompanied the choir in the singing of the opening hymn "0 Ify Father" conducted by Laree Brewerton. Invocation wqs offered by George T* Dudley* The biography of the.late Mrs* Fletcher was given by Cal Alston and speaker for the service was Pres. J. GoldBn Snow. A vocal quartet "Come Unto Me" was rendered by L. B. Tanner, Byng Beazer, Bessie Cook and laree Brewerton* Closing hymn by the choir was "Abide With Me, ’Tis Eventide." The benediction was offered by Eldon Christensen. Mrs. Ririe and Mrs. Kkrjorie Balderson played as a cello—organ duet "Going Home" as a postlude. Pallbearers were Melvin Fletcher, Kent Fletcher, Glen Fletcher, Bruce Boyson, Robert Fletcher and Ervin Hillmer., Interment took place in the Fhgrath Cemetery with Clyde Spencer offering the grave­side prayer. . ' A resident of Magrath for a number of years, James H. McDowell, passed away in Lethbridge Saturday, June 28th following a lengthy illness. He was 77 years of age. Born in North Bay, Ontario he came West in 1909 moving to ftLgrath in 1956 and in 1944 took up residence in Lethbridge. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, three daughters Mrs. J. (Dolores) Robertson of Yellowknife, Mrs. S. (Lfeble) Donaldson of Nelson, B.C. and Mrs. D, (Shirley) Hamilton of Lethbridge; seven grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. He was predeceased by one daughter. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. in Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eskdale officiating. Interment will follow in Archmount Memorial Gardens. GREETINGS FROM THE MATKINS IN JAPAN June 26th, 1969: On the Inland Sea of Japan aboard this beautiful boat "Cobalt Maru" we lert Beppu at 8:10 this morning, arrive in Osaka 14 hours later. It is a most fascinating countiy - to see these people and how they work is a revelation. Tiny plots of farmland - 2,2 acres for each farmer to produce a livelihood is the allotment in acreage through­out this country. Stan and Florence Morris are with us and wish to be remembered. We have met some wonderful people - there are 60 people in the group and we have travelled through Japan by bus, train, and now by ship. It is surely an experience of a lifetime.
