A delicious gourmet-type pot luck dinner followed golfing. ’ This also being the Annual Meeting reports were given from the various committees and prizes earned on this day as well as in other competitions throught the season were awarded. A two-way tie. for Low Gross for this day’s play was achieved by Irene Karla and Shirley Neilson with a score of 44. Shirley also tied with Georgina Fyfe and Ella Eisenbarth for a Low Net of 32. Rose Marie Litwin & Irene Karia shared the closest to the pin on #17 honors. Longest drive for handicappers 29 & under went to Shirley Neilson and for those 30 & over - Bonnie Kennedy. Olive Kennedy had the least number of putts « and Carrie Stevenson used her putter the most. Irene Karia and Marge Tomlinson were both given trophies for their success in the Tanner Trophy Competition; Irene also won a trophy for the Club Champion­ship trial. Trophies were also given to Shirley Neilson's team - Vi Hillmer, Gerry Ripley, Lily Paul and Jean Bolokoski - all winners in League play. Not only was August 31st a succ-essfyl fun day, but we feel the whole year was special. The co-operation and friendship of the ladies belonging to our Magrath Club has been the secret of the Club's success. Elizabeth Emma (Mercer) Coleman passed away in Magrath Thursday, September 1st, 1983 at the age of 86 years, beloved wife of the late Leo Coleman of Magrath. Emma was born May 30th, 1897 at Amer-ocan Fork, Utah. She came to Canada at the age of one with her parents Mr. and Mrs Ammon Mercer and spent most of her life in Magrath except for a short time in Washington State. She was Magrath Librarian and the Reg­istrar of Vital Statistics, and worked in the Magrath Post Office for many years. In 1916 she married Francis Tollestrup who died one year later. In 1922 she married Leo Coleman who predeceased her in 1975. She was sons. Leo Shelley Coleman in 1957 and Price Coleman in 1977. Left to mourn her passing are two daughters Mrs'. Cal (Patricia) Dupree Lethbridge and Mrs. John (Ruth) Sahm Puyallup, Wash, as well as children; thirteen great and eight great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday September 7th in the Raymond LDS Stake Shapel with Bishop Ray Stevenson offic­iating . Born on October 15, 1889 in Lehi, Utah and came to Canada with his parents in 1901. He married Olive Ririe in 1914. They were engaged in ranching and farming in the Mountain View area and later in the Magrath district, making their home in Magrath. Richard was very active in Church and community affairs and was an ardent Progressive Conserv­ative supporter. The Bradshaws travelled extens­ively and visited many different countries. ■ At the time, of his death, he and his wife were residents of Granview Nursing Home in Cardston. He is survived by his loving wife Olive; one daughter Mrs. Waldo (Jane) Smith of Welling, one grandson, David Smith; two sisters Margaret Smith and Gladys Rickard both of Vancouver; two brothers Max Bradshaw of Lethbridf^ and Evans Bradshaw of Mountain Vie- Funeral services were held in the Temple Street LÖS Chapel in Cardston, Tuesday, September 6th with Bishop Bob West officiating, family prayer was offered • * * . REGULAR OR B.B.Q Alice Woolley Poulsen, beloved wife of the late Barton Poulsen, passed away suddenly in Cardston at the home of her daughter Blanche & Robert Russell. Born in Salt Lake City, November 3rd, 1897, she came to Canada with her par­ents in 1899 and had resided in Southern Alberta. - Predeceased by her husband Barton in 1982, and a daughter Ruth, she is sur­vived by a daughter, Blanche Russell of Cardston; two brothers Grant Woolley of Lethbridge and Kirtland Woolley of Bountiful, Utah; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Lethbridge Stake Chapel, Saturday, September 3rd with Bishop Milo Barfuss officiating. Interment took place in Mountain View Cemetery. . THANK YOU: We wish to express our love and appreciation to our many friends, relatives and neighbors who attended our Open House in favor of our 65th Wedding Anniversary. A sincere thank you to you all and for the beautiful flowers and cards we received. Also the well wishes we have received since from friends.
