GREY CUP The 80th Annual Grey Cup held this year in Toronto saw Calgary bring the Cup home after 21 years; the last time they had that privilege was in 1971. Although Calgary led the entire game, it was a well fought contest, with the score 24 Calgary, 10 Winnipeg. There is alot of talk about expanding the CFL to the South. The pro-expansionists contend that economic survival of the league depends on it moving south. The . opposing view feel, this has been a Canadian League since 1909 and should remain as such. They have also stated that they feel there are still revenue streams to be tapped here in Canada. Here in Nagrath, we have some winners as well. In the Curling Club's Grey Cup Pool, Lydia Brunner came out the big winner with $400.00 for the final quarter. For the first quarter Diane Stanford won $100.00; Sue(Bob) Mikado won both the 2nd and 3rd quarter, so she received $200.00. The Curling Club would like to thank all those who participated. CONGRATULATIONS!!! to Jean Burns of Barons Alberta. She was the lucky winner of the draw for the "Red Star" Quilt,at the Senior's Pot Luck Dinner on Nov.27/92. VANDALS caused extensive damage to the Cardston junior High School, Monday night. One of the front glass doors was broken; lockers were broken into and books and papers strewed in the halls; the Trophy Case was smashed and trophies removed and broken. However, the Office seems to be the area that received the most damage. Police are investigating. CHRISTMAS SEASON The Christmas Season is upon us. Jo Robinson, co-author of "Unplug the Christmas Tree" has a few suggestions for us: Celebrate Christmas as a Season, rather than as a Day; Family activities for the entire month of Dec. help to build memories; Parents can make a simple Dec. calendar to post on the refrigerator illustrating family activities; Make a big deal out of doing something for someone else. These suggestions nay help to diminish the emphasis on the gift orgy. _ _ Here are some other suggestions of things to do during the Christmas Season: listening to good music; making decorations; baking; going carolling; sitting around the tree and chatting; reading Christmas Stories to one another; planning a calendar, forces parents to decide ahead of time how they are going to spend the Holidays; cutting down on all YOU do and including your children in ! iI 'Inis Weekend pink/bluc/niauvc/ burgundy/peach/ ecru/gr/r enI/black Multitude of Colors 165 Si f I II t I metre I M;:grath Senior’s —■ Cash Bingo December 91 Doors open at 6:30pm Games 7:00 pm senior's news Everyone Aekome The Wednesday lunch will be held on Dec.9th at 12 NOON at the Centre.
