THE BLUES CAN MAKE YOU SICK Chronic depression can leave you feeling sick as well as sad, with symptoms such as persistent aches and pains, weakness and weariness. Recent research suggests that getting enough folic acid (via daily multivitamin pills) and the amino acid tryptophan (found in protein-rich foods such as tuna, turkey and milk) can improve your spirits— and your health. In fact, tryptophan has been shown to be as effective a mood-booster as the antidepressant drug imipramine. • Another great use for old pantyhose Use the cut-off legs from old pairs of pantyhose for packing shoes in a suitcase.
