The theme was "Anything Goes!" by Mamie Hubber (head coach), Audra Foggin, (Assistant coach), Amy Robertson, Heather McKelvey, Cindi Ripley, Audrey Tannant, Kelsey Godionton and Ginger Gurney. Duets were performed by Sherilyn Stoutjesdyk and Lisa Leishman; Amy Bly and Michelle Bevers,- Heather McKelvey and Aleesa Nelson,- Amy Robertson and Amber Ferguson (team assist-­ant) Mamie Hubber and Lisa Jardine ( 88-89 head coach). The audience enjoyed a powerskating demonstration of the M.F.S.C. led by Amber Ferguson and Lome McKelvey to the tune of 'Greased Lightening". The Coal Miner's Daughters Precision Team of Lethbridge displayed their artistic talent in a group number. Two beautiful skate solos were per­formed by 11 year old Sarah Haskett and 17 year o}d Diane Spooner, both members of the Lethbridge Figure Skating Club. Excellent announcing was done by Shirl Smith qf Magrath assisted by music man Jamie Qodlonton. During the finale, gift trophies were presented to coaches and guest skaters. Club members Kelsey Godionton, Jessie Lee Mipion and Audrey Tannant received trophies for completing all the Can-Skate badge levels and passing their proficiency exam. Perfect attendance trophies were awarded to Janice Ripley, Karren Leishman, Heather McKelvey and Carrie Heggie. Cert­ificates vere presented to all the club members and powerskating performers for a job well done by head coach Mamie Hubber. Thank you to those tireless parents and volunteer helpers who helped all year and during the planning phase of the Ice Special thanks to 'Debbie Leishman dressing room "moms", Warren Minion decorating and lighting crew, Sylvia and her sales crew and Joanne Robert- her staff for arranging the refresh- Revue, and her and his Bullock son and rrents fpr audience and performers after the show. Frank Tricsli was Club "camera man" and did and excellent job of filming the entire show. Thank you Garth Veale and Leonard Bourne for your help all year, too. Yes.it takes a lot of people and work to keep a club working smoothly but with mapy helping hands, smiles, exasperat­ing moments, worry, wringing of hands, the proud moments and good friends made, it is all worph it and with that we have completed our 4th successful year. I ■ On Friday, March 9th, Rod's Tadpoles played Lethbridge in a close, exciting game ending 7-6 for Magrath. Dustin Ririe 4-0; Joshua Bourelle 3-0; Mason Dahl 0-$; Stan" Ringuette, Denver Wetherelt and Rhonda Strate with 1 assist each. Chris Chatwin did an ex­cellent job as goalie. • Next morning, 8 a.m. we were expected to be in Cardston for the first game of their tourna­ment. We played a Cardston team. It was a tough game but we only lost by 2 goals, 5-3 for Cardston. Mason Dahl 2-0; Dustin Ririe 1-0; Rhonda Strate and Joshua Bourelle each with an assist. Darren Bevers did a good job as goalie. An All Star medal was awarded to Dustin Ririe. The second game was against Raymond and we were victorious — 13—4; Dushin Ride 6—1; Darren Bevers 2-0; Mason Dahl 2-0; Braedon Balderson 1-1; Denver Wetherelt 1-0; Cody Ririe & Joshua Bourelle each with an assist. Chris Chatwin did an excellent job in goal and also received an all Star medal. We only have one game left this season. Good Luck!! June Ririe. HORNETS vs MOSQUITOS High noon, Sunday, March 18th at the Magrath Arena was the tine 'and place for the second encounter between these rival teams. The Hillmer Hornets defeated the Magrath Mosq­uitos 6-3 in an exciting, action packed hockey game. Hornets goals scored by Gavin No-Win-Dyk (2) Robert Brandt Krusheminski, Swervin Ervin Pepperinski, Clint Clouter, Randy the Mauler ably assisted by teammates Marvellous Marvin Messer, Bob Tumbellin and Bob YooHoo and rook­ies Ken Damage, Kurt is LeMew, B.J. Snail, Danny G. HeeHee (distant relative of Stormin Norman HeeHee who took over coaching duties with Bob Wants-One. Performing very admirably in goal, long lost cousin of the family Russ Pokey-Did- Well, was Welcomed back into the fold following his outstanding performance. Newly arrpii red Gordon The Great Gatzki did well his fir^t- time out and we're looking for great things from him next season. The Mosquito goals were scored by Barry Owens (2) and Tommy (The Bruce) Lee who scored his goal on a penalty shot. Although the Mosquitos tried hard, their- power line didn't quite have it all together. Club Owner Nettie is quite proud of her team and has already begun scouting in prep­aration for next year's encounter, in hopes • we can make this an annual event. Reed was bom in Magrath August 5, 1906, the He moved to American Telephone Company for 42 years. Reed is survived by his wife Clara, a sis­ter Mayme of Salt Lake City and a brother Gene Hindley of Stockton, California. He was a brother of the late Ken Hindley of Magrath. Reed was instrumental in getting the arch Reed, Tom this project Glen Card, brother of the late Cyrus Card of Magrath, passed away Thursday, March 8th in Trail, B.C. Funeral services were held in Trail on Tuesday, March 13, 1990. . Survivors include daughters Glenda Ryall and Carol Philar and a sister Melva Witbeck. Cyrus Card Mrs. Agnes Campbell, mother of Mrs. (J.S.) Effie McCrea of Magrath, passed away in Leth­bridge on March 12, 1990 at the age of 88 years.
