You are a year older and have climbed up the ladder of education one more rung. And very soon you will be on your own feet. You will be asking yourself this question in the not too distant future; "What do I want out of life?" All people want the Good Life. No one wants to be regarded as a zero. A formula for a happy life might read as follows. Lead a healthy life. Get to know your qualities so that you can enlarge them. Know your failings so that you can reduce them. Find out what you can do best so that you can perform at a higher level. Have a moral code and live by it; for without it, life will be empty. But in order to succeed, you must plan. A person without a plan is nothing but a drifter. Getting what you want out of life is something to do something about. Do not believe the good way of life is the easy way. But it takes courage to begin. And you will make mistakes. There is room for new ideas and for the improvement of old ones. You must search them out for the world will not do that for you. Now make your dreams come true. Nothing worth having is gained without effort. peaceful and frightening. I feel that I am only alive to pass time away. Is there a purpose to life? I don't see it. I live in my own little world. I decide when to do things. Not the clock. I see an uncertain future just like the clock. I wish I had someone to talk with. I can't feel any pain. Only emptiness. Oh, it hurts. Kathy WithamSNOW It flutters around Without making a sound The sky is all white With no one in sight The snow is so soft Like the hay in a loft It just flutters around Without xnaking a sound. Tom Block Greg Chumik THE .LONELY WOLF The picture of the wolf howling gives me a feeling of sadness and loneliness. The wolf looks hungry and lonely. It has no friends to share its sadness. It is all alone on a cliff with nothing but the darkness surrounding it. The only light it has is the moon. I can almost feel the darkness and loneliness. The wolf is lifting his head up to the sky as if he is looking to the moon for comfort. I can hear the wolf howling, but yet it is more than just that. He seems to be crying because he is all alone in the darkness. Linda MeinzerDREAMING William Chernezky As I look out into the field of white, I imagine a beautiful maiden in site, With flowing hair and eyes of blue, She seems to wink and smile at you, And if by chance you'd look and see, You'd find just how she looks at me. The crisp cool snow crunches as she walks, She dare not whisper or even talk, The squirrels nestle around her head, Then she lies down and goes to bed. As time passes by the morning comes, She wakes by the thunder of many guns, The guns have come to scare the deer, She runs and flees in a bush real near, She spreads her magic throughout the woods, To protect the deer where once they stood. Now that she has done her share, The hunters now will really care, She packs up her magic to help many others, And even some without no mothers, I wave good-bye until next time, And maybe then she'll feel more fine.
